This recipe for delicious and soft pierogi dough comes from my mom.
Every time I was making pierogi I’d call my mom and ask about the proportions. The recipe you’ll find below is the simplest and vegan pierogi dough recipe you can find.
How to make pierogi dough
- 1kg of flour (and some flower to sprinkle the breadboard)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 120ml of oil
- 400ml boiling water
Recipe for pierogi dough
- Flour, salt, and oil mix together using either a food mixer with a hook. You can also mix the ingredients in a bowl using your hand. Start pouring the hot water inside (be careful not to burn yourself)and mix it either using your hand or fork.
You get soft, flexible dough that doesn’t stick to a hand. Cover it with a cloth so the dough doesn’t dry out and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Roll it flat, cut out thin circles and make your favorite pierogi.
